Arc Design Resources, in Rockford, Illinois, is accepting applications from entry-level Civil Engineers. We offer a challenging growth opportunity for a new engineer as our company continues to grow. Arc Design Resources is a regional civil engineering firm of 23 employees specializing in a wide range of projects including traffic and transportation, municipal engineering, site development, water resources, surveying, and construction management.
This opening is for an engineer looking to be a general practitioner, with a variety of work in the disciplines of traffic, transportation, hydrology, and hydraulics. The preferred candidates will have had exposure to a variety of coursework in the above areas and an interest in working on a variety of engineering projects. Qualified applicants will have a bachelor of science degree from an accredited program. Academic course work in Traffic and Transportation or Hydrology and Hydraulics are preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD is required with knowledge of engineering software such as Civil 3D, HCS, Synchro, HEC/RAS, and HydroCAD. Field experience in surveying and construction of civil engineering projects will be helpful.
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design and preparation of engineering drawings, engineering reports, site planning, exhibit preparation, grading design, roadway profiles and design, earthwork and storm water calculations, and utility design. Responsibilities will also include permit assistance, quantity take-off, and occasional field work including survey assistance and construction observation. Successful candidate will be expected to work directly on design and drafting projects in a team environment under supervision of the Project Manager or Senior Engineer.
